A few words
About Us
History
Our story starts way back, when it all started in 2011.
Who we are
Il’laramatak Community Concerns (ICC), is a registered Non Governmental Organization (NGO), founded in September 2011, to address human rights and development concerns of indigenous pastoralists, who are part of the minority and marginalized communities in Kenya, with special focus on rural women and girls living in poverty and exclusion.
Our Organization believes and recognizes that pastoralist communities in the arid and semi-arid lands of Kenya have much to offer to the country, and ICC would like to look at these groups differently, recognizing their strengths and the resources they have, and understanding what makes them distinct.
The primary purpose of Il`laramatak Community Concerns is to empower women and children in the Maasai pastoral community to identify and achieve their own development initiatives and promote decision making.
The organization’s development approach is based on participation, women empowerment, local capacity building/training, gender equality, advocacy for human rights, sustainability and accountability.
The organization considers the development of strong linkages with the community as a priority in the attainment of its Programmatic and organizational goals. The organization has established strong linkages with women groups and other organized social groups.
