Empowering Women through Tailoring: A Step towards Better Livelihoods
women empowerment through entreprenuership
In partnership with JICA our recent project focused on empowering indigenous women through tailoring skills training, aiming to provide them with a sustainable alternative source of income. Traditionally, these women heavily rely on livestock, which is their primary source of livelihood. However, during drought seasons, their efforts are often devastated.

Recognizing this vulnerability, we launched a tailoring training program to equip women with valuable skills that can generate income regardless of climate fluctuations. By learning how to sew and create various garments, these women now have a new avenue to support their families. Tailoring not only offers financial independence but also boosts self-confidence and social status within their communities.

This project aims to improve the livelihoods of these women in the long term, making them less dependent on livestock and more resilient to climate challenges. As they hone their skills, they are transforming their lives and uplifting their families. Our mission is to continue supporting such initiatives that promote empowerment, sustainability, and community resilience—because when women thrive, entire communities prosper.
