Global Climate Advocacy and Indigenous Leadership in Conservation

For over a decade, ICC has actively participated in the Conference of the Parties (COP), contributing to global climate and conservation dialogues as both a women-led and Indigenous peoples’ organization.

Through this engagement, ICC has consistently amplified community voices from pastoralist and Indigenous communities, advocating for:

  1. The protection and sustainable management of natural ecosystems
  2. Recognition of Indigenous knowledge in climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation
  3. Gender-responsive approaches to climate action and environmental governance

Our participation in COP has enabled us to influence discussions on climate resilience, land use, and ecosystem restoration, while also building partnerships and learning from global best practices.
