Policy Advocacy for Sustainable Natural Resource Management
ICC has played an active role in strengthening environmental governance through its contribution to the development of the Kajiado County Sand Harvesting and Quarry Bill 2020.
Through this process, ICC supported stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting sustainable sand harvesting practices and regulating quarry activities that contribute to environmental degradation.

This engagement contributed to:
Protection of river ecosystems and landscapes from unsustainable extraction practices.
Promotion of sustainable natural resource management at the county level.
Strengthening environmental governance and policy frameworks.
Amplifying community voices, particularly those affected by environmental degradation.

By participating in policy formulation, ICC ensures that community perspectives and conservation priorities are integrated into legal frameworks, contributing to long-term ecosystem protection and sustainable development.
